I just find human players so much more interesting and challenging to play against. My favourite style of play is multiplayer, specifically PBEM's at Civ Webring. Yeah, I like building and dreaming up my own little missions and campaigns as the game goes along. Hopefully this would allow for some cross pollination between Apolyton, We Play Civ, Civ Fanatics and Civ Webring. Most of the information (bar current projects and news) is fairly general. I don't know if you have seen the SCENARIO LEAGUE INFORMATION page I built at Apolyton. That's not me being elitist, just pragmatic with my time. I have so much work to do on my projects that I can't really afford to waste time helping people who will almost certainly give up after a week or so. However, there you tend to see lots more people just dabbling with no real commitment. I guess it is the easiest of the Civ2 forums to stumble across. We do still hear from some of the old guard from time to time too.ĬivFanatics seems to attract the majority of newbie traffic. In recent years there has been a slow but steady stream of new members which have helped balance out the old ones who have moved on. There is more of an emphasis on scenarios than there is general Civ2 chat though. To be fair I think the guys at Apolyton are pretty friendly to new members and encourage them in their projects. Just because something is difficult it doesn't mean its not worth doing though :) I would love to see this forum thrive, all I was saying is that it will be very difficult starting from scratch (compared with starting from scratch with a Civ4 or 5 forum).
